This week at the farm…

We "planted" seeds in different materials to see if plants will grow and sprout in something other than soil.

We are trying crayon shavings, hole punches, pencil shavings, string, and aluminum foil, and soil.

After "planting" the seeds, we each made our own predictions as to whether or not the seeds will sprout in the different material.

The students thought hard about their hypotheses!

We'll be observing them over the next few weeks and will record our results….so stay tuned!!

What a great idea- teaching the kids about germination of seeds - Have you tried our Sprout Pencil? The pencil that you can plant after use?
