Last, but definitely not least...
MARVELOUS ANNABEL!
Annabel brought this sweet poster to help us learn more about her and her family. Annabel is the 3rd of 4 girls! Annabel was named after a poem! Annabel told us about her favorite things: sport - soccer, candy - Tootsie Rolls, food - popcorn and M&Ms (together!), drink - chocolate milk, song - "Firework", holiday - Halloween, movie - Zootopia, animal - unicorn, and color - rainbow! Annabel, we loved learning more about you this week!
Annabel's mom and dad came and visited our class on Tuesday. We learned that Mrs. Young works for the Army Corps of Engineers designing bases AND she teaches Energy and Sustainability at SMU! Mr. Young is an engineer at Lockheed...he builds airplanes! So cool!
Mr. Young showed us a model of the airplane called...
The Warthog!
Next, Mr. and Mrs. Young helped us all make paper airplanes. They took us through all the steps...
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.
Next, we had a contest to see whose paper airplane flew the best. They had to see if they could throw it through the hula hoop!
Annabel, Harper, McKenna, Bradley and Wyatt made it to the final round!
Annabel
Wyatt
McKenna
Bradley
It came down to the final 2:
Annabel & Harper!
Annabel aimed carefully, but it fell just a bit short of the hoop. It was a great try!
Next, Harper aimed carefully and launched!
It went right through the hoop, and she was our winner!
Each student went home with an information sheet about the F-16 and a cool sticker!
A BIG thank you to the Young family for a fun morning!
