The Gingerbread Man jumped onto the globe and pointed right at the country we've been learning about this week...Mexico!

We had fun ending our week learning about Mexico by celebrating with a piƱata!

See all the pictures below of us taking our best swings at it!!

The Gingerbread Man has been sneaking all over our classroom!  He knows these kids love gingerbread cookies!  We all love searching for him each morning!

Kyle lost his second tooth this week!
We sure are giving the Tooth Fairy a lot of work!

We enjoyed singing and dancing this week in Big Chapel with the High School Praise Band!

Yummmm....we cooked again this week with
Mrs. McCarthy!

Since we have been learning about Mexico this week, we had a lesson in tortilla and quesadilla making!  The class voted that flour tortillas are more tasty and then helped make cheese quesadillas!

We read The Gingerbread Man in class yesterday.
This morning after P.E., we came into the classroom and found the Gingerbread Man hiding in the "O" in our "Welcome" sign!
He hides because he's a little worried we may eat him!  Yum...we tasted gingerbread cookies yesterday afternoon so I think that makes him nervous!

We'll post more pictures this week showing all the places we find him hiding in our classroom!

Happy Thanksgiving!!

We enjoyed a DELICIOUS feast with our 6th Grade Big Buddies from Mrs. Gingras' Class!  The Kindergarteners were the Pilgrims and the 6th Graders were the Indians...even the teachers participated by dressing the parts!
Thank you to all the parents who contributed food...everything was wonderful.

Our Feast!

Silly Pilgrim girls...Marin, Emilie, Mavanee, and Chandler!

All the Pilgrims!

Last, but definitely not least...
Our Marvelous Jacey!!

Jacey brought a bright pink poster to help us get to know her better.
She brought pictures of her sweet family, a few of her favorite things
(like nail polish and belts!), and her favorite foods!
We enjoyed her fun poster!

Jacey's mom, Jenifer, is an elementary school teacher in Crowley, and her dad, Matt, is the Campus Technologist at the SCS Prep Campus.  They brought each student an iPad to use and play with!  They each read a book on the iPad then got to draw (also on the iPad) what they thought the next page in the story could be.  They were all VERY creative!

It's amazing how this technology is like second nature to our students!
They jumped right in with no reservations!

Thank you to the Winn Family for a fun afternoon!

We seem to be losing teeth in "twos"!!

Kyle and Marin show off their new smiles!!

Mitchell with his mom, Katie McBroom, and his sister, Maggie Kate, were recognized as Legacies at Chapel this week.  Mrs. McBroom is a graduate of Southwest Christian and is also now a teacher at the Prep Campus!

We really enjoyed our Author Visit today by
Lucas Miller, the "Singing Zoologist"!
You can see him sing on YouTube.
He was very entertaining!

Last Tuesday, the secret ballots were cast
and the winner was...

Duck for President!!!

We unbiasedly listened to three candidates (well, actually books), filled out our voter registration cards, considered the issues, entered the polling booths (see pictures), cast our votes, and tallied the results.  It was a tie after 12 votes were counted, but then the last and 13th vote decided our winner...
Duck for President!
Grace for President and My Teacher for President put up a good fight, but weren't able to "woo" the voters in the end!
