Super Star Scientist

Bella!

Scientist Bella was ready to perform her experiment in her lab coat and goggles!  She also had the following materials out and ready:  a cup, paper, and a bowl with water.

Experiment:  Dry Paper

Objective:  To see if paper can stay dry in water

First, Bella smashed paper...

 ...and put it in a cup.

 Next, she turned the cup over…

... and put the cup straight down into the water.

 Finally, Bella pulled the cup straight up out of the water, and the paper was perfectly dry!!

 Bella let all of her friends have a chance to perform her experiment as well!

 Conclusion:

The air pressure holds the water out and the paper stays dry.
