I have been truly blessed this week by the generosity of ALL of you!
I am overwhelmed by all you've done for me!

Thank you for trusting me each day to teach your children…I learn from them daily!
They are reflections of you and it is very evident that you are doing an amazing job at home! You are raising incredible little ones that are going to grow into wonderful young ladies and gentlemen!

Super Star Scientist
Barrett!
Scientist Barrett was ready with his lab coat, goggles and materials needed for his experiment! His materials were: corn starch, water, a bowl, and a spoon.
Experiment: The Hard Liquid
Objective: To find out if Oobleck is a liquid or solid
Fist, Barrett poured corn starch in the bowl.
Next, he added water…
…and a little more water (with his assistant, Mom!)
…and a little more water, and they stirred.
Once it was at the right consistency, Barrett formed a ball of the Oobleck in his hand…so it's a solid, right?
But wait! When he opened his hand, it turned into a liquid and oozed between his fingers! So it's a liquid, right?
But wait! He smacked it with his hand and it was hard and didn't splatter…so it's a solid, right?? But, he was also able to stick a finger in…so it's a liquid, right??
Conclusion:
Oobleck acts as both a liquid and a solid
Our friend, Christopher, had a birthday over the weekend!
He turned 7 on Sunday, April 6!
Christopher held up his 7 fingers as we sang
"Happy Birthday" to him!
We hope all your birthday wishes come true!
Christopher also lost a bottom tooth this week!
He's really growing up fast!!

Super Star Scientist
Greenleigh!
Scientist Greenleigh was ready with her lab coat, goggles and materials! Her materials were: lemon juice, vinegar, 2 bowls, 2 pennies, and a paper plate.
Experiment: Bright as a Penny
Objective: If vinegar and lemon juice will make a penny shiny
First, Greenleigh showed us 2 dirty, old pennies.
Next, Greenleigh put a dirty penny in a cup of vinegar and a dirty penny in a cup of lemon juice.
We let them soak for awhile, then took the pennies out and dried them off. Look how SHINY they are!!!
Conclusion:
Oxygen and copper make a penny dull. The acid of the lemon and vinegar remove the oxide and make the penny shiny.
