Super Star Scientist

Haydn!

Experiment:  Leak Proof Bag

Objective:  How the polymer (bag) forms a bond around the pencils so it will not leak.

Materials:  water, pencils, ziplock bag, bucket

Haydn, our scientist, was ready to perform our last Super Star Scientist Experiment of the school year! She was ready to go with her materials and lab coat! 

First Hadyn poured water into a baggie.

Then her assistant, Dad, zipped the baggie closed.

Next, Haydn stuck a pencil right through the baggie...

...then another... 

...and another...

...and another...

...until there were 6 pencils poking through!

Look at that!  It IS leak proof!

Brave Hadyn let her dad place it over her head!

Not a drop of water leaked out!

How fun!

Conclusion: The bag forms a seal and will not leak.
